Welcome to Trudy’s Fancy!

I’m excited to show off my scarves. Each scarf is one-of-a-kind. I have been weaving since 1972, primarily for my own enjoyment and personal expression. Weaving is rather like doing a puzzle, with many diverse elements, both aesthetic and technical. It’s very rewarding when they come together to produce a successful fabric.

Tencel, a new wood pulp based fiber, is produced using an environmentally friendly process. I have found my style and rhythm with this new tencel yarn and am enjoying creating one-of-a-kind scarves in a wide variety of color combinations. Each scarf seems to have an inner glow that emerges as the cloth is created, and keeps me excited about the entire process, from finding the color inspiration to the finished scarf. The scarves are very smooth and shiny which is not evident in the photos. Quite simply - they feel wonderful.

Scarves are a great way to provide color and spark up a wardrobe.  I enjoy wearing mine and am happy to help you select the one that is just right for you.

Here I am at Open Studio Weekend in 2007 at the T.W. Wood Gallery in Montpelier, VT.  You can see a wide variety of colors. The rack twirls a dazzling kaleidoscope of scarves.
